The Villa fan favourite took to social media after a 1-1 draw with the Hammers.
West Ham took the lead through Aaron Cresswell but Villa fought back, managing to secure a point just as they had recently done against Newcastle United at St James' Park.
And former Villa man and fan favourite Taylor feels Remi Garde's side produced a considerable improvement against the Hammers.
However, he is well aware Aston Villa still need more - especially when it comes to going forward, suggesting Garde's men were light when it came to numbers in the penalty area.
Naturally, Villa need to find a balance between committing players in the final third and staying solid at the back (if either task is possible to perform efficiently enough to get points for the Midlands outfit).
Two draws in three games is certainly progress for Aston Villa. But it's slow progress and, considering their situation, nowhere near enough to push them towards safety.
But can Villa afford to tip the balance towards being more attacking if it costs them more at the other end?
