Chelsea fans react on Twitter to Diego Costa's performance v Watford

The Blues faithful responded to the Spaniard's brace against the Hornets on Boxing Day.

Chelsea fans had plenty to say after Diego Costa's two-goal haul against Watford on Saturday afternoon. The Blues have a lot to work on, having only managed a 2-2 home draw against the Hornets (who are in good form, it has to be said).

But Costa's performance was certainly a source of encouragement. Until he got himself suspended for the Manchester United clash that is.

And that suspension helped drown out some of the encouragement, as well as the fact the Chelsea striker's two goals drew as much criticism from some fans as they did praise.

Indeed, the question plenty were asking was where exactly has the Spaniard been all this time if this is what he can produce?

Still, for those willing to look past Costa's character flaws - and his poor form under Jose Mourinho - Chelsea will naturally function better when their main striker is firing in front of goal.

They won't against Manchester United, of course, as the 27-year-old won't feature. But, without Costa, the Blues would likely have lost their 10th Premier League game of the season against Watford. Here's how Chelsea fans reacted on Twitter to his performance...
