Report: Tottenham interested in Domenico Berardi of Sassuolo

Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are reportedly interested in Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi.

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Domenico Berardi from Sassuolo, according to Gianlucadimarzio.com.

It has been reported that Tottenham are “taking concrete steps to invest in Italy as they did in the (Erik) Lamela deal.”

Spurs, though, face competition for the services of the 21-year-old forward from Italian champions Juventus, who have reached the last 16 of the Champions League this season.

According to Gianlucadimarzio.com, “Sassuolo however already has a pact with Juventus who could use a buy back clause next July for around €25 million (£18.43m), which is however a lower price than Sassuolo's current €35/40 million (£22.12m/£29.49m) valuation of Berardi.”

Berardi has been on the books of Sassuolo since 2010 and is rated as one of the best young forwards in Italy.

The Italy Under-21 international has been in good form so far this season and has been a key figure behind Eusebio Di Francesco’s side’s rise up the Serie A table.

The youngster has scored two goals and created nine chance in 10 Serie A appearances for Sassuolo so far this campaign.

Berardi has a pass accuracy of 68% and a shot accuracy of 50%, and has won one header, nine dribbles and 13 tackles.

Sassuolo are seventh in the Serie A table at the moment with 27 points from 16 matches.
