Ray Parlour reacts on Twitter to Arsenal loss, says Gunners should buy Southampton duo

The former Arsenal midfielder took to Twitter during the north London side's 4-0 loss at Southampton on Boxing Day.

Ray Parlour was understandably gutted after Arsenal's 4-0 loss at Southampton on Boxing Day.

Indeed, the Gunners left St Mary's well and truly beaten despite having the chance to move into top spot in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Leicester City's 1-0 loss at Liverpool opened the door for Arsene Wenger's men but, in typical Arsenal fashion, they slipped up - and how.

As such, Parlour expressed his disappointment on Twitter but also suggested two Southampton players the north London side should try and sign.

The pundit and former midfielder was impressed with Victor Wanyama and Sadio Mane.

Like most Arsenal fans, meanwhile, Parlour expressed his frustration in simpler terms on social media!

Arsenal's problems would certainly be helped with the signing of a strong defensive midfielder. But it seems the main reason they won't is the main reason they always lose when they can lay down a real marker: Wenger.

The Gunners boss's mentality hasn't been a title winning one for some time. If Arsenal need a player that could guarantee them the league, it's almost as though Wenger would deliberately avoid buying him...
