Newcastle will take on Everton at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening, and Owen has backed the Toffees to register a 2-1 victory.
“Everton are another side who have cost me dear this season, most recently when beaten 3-2 at home by Leicester, funnily enough,” the former Newcastle striker has written on Colossusbets.com. “They have disappointed against the better teams.
“But they do have a good record against sides in the lower half of the league, and I think they can bring an end to Newcastle’s mini-revival by a 2-1 score line.”
Newcastle are in good form at the moment and have collected seven points from their last three Premier League games.
After winning 2-0 against Liverpool at St. James’ Park at the start of the month, Steve McClaren’s side got the better of Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 away from home at White Hart Lane in North London.
The Magpies were held to a 1-1 draw by fellow relegation candidates Aston Villa at home last weekend.
Everton are struggling for form and for good points at the moment and will head into Saturday’s match on the back of a 3-2 defeat to Leicester City at Goodison Park.
The Toffees have not won a single Premier League game this month, but they will be confident of picking up all three points against Newcastle.
