West Ham United played out a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa in the Premier League on Boxing Day.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to West Ham United’s failure to win against Aston Villa away from home on Boxing Day.

The Hammers failed to return to winning ways in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, as they played out a 1-1 draw with Villa at Villa Park.

Aaron Cresswell put West Ham in the lead on the stroke of half time, and Jordan Ayew restored parity for Villa just past the hour mark.

Gold has taken to Twitter to have his say on the final result, praising defender James Collins and bemoaning the injuries which have hit the team.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Villa Park, hosts Villa had 59% of the possession, took 15 shots of which eight were on target, and earned nine corners.

West Ham had 41% of the possession, took 10 shots of which four were on target, and earned six corners.

Slaven Bilic’s side are 10th in the Premier League table at the moment with 26 points from 18 matches.
