The Villans will face West Ham at Villa Park in the Premier League, and former Villa striker Gray believes that the home team will register a narrow win.
“It’s Villa to get their first win at home this season,” the former Scotland international has written on Paddypower.com. “They’re due it, they need it and I’m going for a narrow Villa win.”
A footnote added: “Andy’s Bet: Aston Villa to win at 13/8.”
Villa find themselves at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with just seven points from 17 games.
The Villans are as many as 10 points behind 17th-place Newcastle United and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
Remi Garde’s side will head into the game against West Ham on the back of a 1-1 draw with Newcastle United away from home at St. James’ Park in the league.
Meanwhile, the Hammers will head into the match at Villa Park on the back of a goalless draw with Swansea City away from home at the Liberty Stadium in Wales.
The result in Swansea extended the London outfit’s winless run to seven games in the league.
