Arsenal youngster Yassin Fortune compares himself to Danny Welbeck

The Arsenal teenager has been speaking about his style of play.

Arsenal youngster Yassin Fortune has been speaking to the club’s official website as he bids to make a name for himself at the Emirates Stadium.

The French striker is only 16 so he has a long way to go before manager Arsene Wenger will consider giving him a first-team chance, but he will know that if he keeps working hard his opportunity will come a few years down the line.

Fortune is just one of many exciting young players coming through the ranks at Arsenal right now and Wenger has shown time and again that he is not afraid to give youth a chance if he deems them good enough.

Fortune is currently impressing at under-18 level, scoring five times to date, and his impressive performances have earned him one outing for the Gunners’ under-21s.

Unsurprisingly, Fortune admires former Arsenal player Thierry Henry, but it is a current first-team player that he feels he is most similar to.

Speaking to, Fortune said, “I loved the way he (Henry) played and wanted to be like him but in truth, I think I’m more like Danny Welbeck as a player.”

The England international - who signed for £16million from Manchester United in 2014 - is currently out injured, but considering he is only 25 there is a chance Fortune could play alongside the older forward in years to come.
