Report suggests international defender Darryl Lachman will leave Sheffield Wednesday for Cambuur in January

Sheffield Wednesday

The Curacao international has not played for Sheffield Wednesday.

Reports in The Netherlands today are suggesting that Sheffield Wednesday could be set to lose one of their defenders in the January window.

The player in question is Darryl Lachman. The Curacao defender only joined Sheffield Wednesday in the summer from FC Twente but he has had little to no impact at Hillsborough.

He has not played a single game for the club since his summer move and is said to be desperate to get out of the club.

The 26-year-old, who played his last game of club football in February for FC Twente, is now said to be on the radar of Eredivisie outfit Cambuur - as reported by Algemeen Dagblad.

The report claims Wednesday are happy to release him from his contract should Cambuur cover the remainder of his wages. His current deal expires in 2017 so that might prove costly to a club with limited resources.

But currently the player is going no football at Wednesday and there is little point holding him back from first-team football back in Holland if Cambuur get in a ball-park area.
