The Spanish trickster has had his struggles at Villa Park.
January looks like being a month of selling as well as buying for Aston Villa after their dreadful season so far.
Many of the fringe players at the club such as Libor Kozak, Charles N'Zogbia and Gary Gardner could be moved on by Remi Garde.
But one man who it seems will not be leaving the club is midfielder Carles Gil.
The tricky Spaniard has had his ups and downs at Villa Park but is generally considered to be a talented if not some what mercurial talent for the club.
He appears to have an interested party, in the form of Spanish club Real Betis.
But a report in Spain is suggesting that Villa have informed Betis that they have no intention of selling the tricky Spaniard in January.
Remi Garde is said to be keen on seeing how he develops in the second part of the season and has informed Real Betis that their interest in the player is futile, report El Desmarque.
Gil joined Villa from Valencia after excelling on a loan spell at Elche in La Liga. However he has struggled to cement a role as a regular starter and has been linked with a move away on numerous occasions.
But it seems Garde is a fan and that Gil will remain with Villa for the time being.
