Jurgen Klopp put his Liverpool side through their paces ahead of their Boxing Day clash with Leicester City.

Liverpool have received a double injury boost ahead of their Boxing Day clash with Leicester City at Anfield.

Dejan Lovren has returned to training after he was ruled out of last weekend's 3-0 defeat to Watford with a knee injury, while Daniel Sturridge seems to be back on the comeback trail yet again after a hamstring injury.

The Reds are pretty short of options at both ends of the field right now. Mamadou Sakho has only just returned from a knee injury himself while Martin Skrtel has been ruled out of a busy period of fixtures because of a hamstring injury he picked up in the defeat at Vicarage Road.

Christian Benteke and Divock Origi are the only other natural striking options available, so having Sturridge close to full fitness again will be a boost for Klopp given his side's lack of potency in the final third for much of December, as well as the hectic fixture schedule in January which sees the Reds participate in the semi-finals of the League Cup, and get their FA Cup campaign underway.

Former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard was once again part of the Reds training as he continues to keep his fitness levels up during the MLS off-season before he returns to LA Galaxy.
