Celtic have recalled midfielder Ryan Christie from his loan at Inverness.

Celtic have confirmed on their official website that they have recalled midfielder Ryan Christie from his loan spell at Inverness.

Christie, 20, was born and bred in Inverness, and joined his hometown club as a youngster before making his way up through the ranks and in to the first team.

After scoring four goals last season, the attacking midfielder became one of the most highly-rated young players in Scotland - and, unsurprisingly, Celtic pounced to sign him.

The deadline day move saw Christie pen a four-year deal at Celtic Park, but the Bhoys agreed to send him back to Inverness on loan until January, with a view to extending that loan until the end of the season.

Now though, Celtic have announced on their official website that they are bringing Christie back to the club for the second half of the season, giving manager Ronny Deila a timely boost after the 2-1 defeat to Motherwell on Saturday afternoon.

After Celtic confirmed the news, Bhoys fans took to Twitter to give their views on Christie's return, with most seeing it as a good thing - if Deila plays him in the right position.

Other supporters even compared Christie to Premier League stars James McCarthy (Everton) and James McArthur (Crystal Palace), having both played for Scottish club Hamilton.

Here are some of the reactions from Celtic fans after hearing of Christie's return to Celtic Park...
