Aston Villa should consider swap deal that would see goalkeeper Antonio Adan at the club

Real Betis, Benito Villamarin Stadium

Real Betis want Carles Gil and Villa need a new keeper.

Aston Villa are believed to be in the market for a new goalkeeper and could it be that one has just popped up on the radar.

Diario AS is reporting this week that Real Betis goalie Antonio Adan is attracting interest from plenty of Premier League suitors because of his recently activated release clause.

The former Real Madrid man is now available for just €8 million (£5.9 million) making him good business.

He has been in good form for the club this season and Villa could do well by bringing him in.

Brad Guzan has struggled this term and many an Aston Villa fan would tell you that the American has not been at his best for 18 months or so now.

He lacks genuine opposition to his number one spot and Villa would certainly do well to bring in a new face.

They also have another trick up their sleeve if they go for Adan. Real Betis are desperately coveting Villa midfielder Carles Gil, as reported by El Desmarque this week.

Villa should certainly consider a potential swap deal if the opportunity arises to bring in the 28-year-old Spanish stopper.
