The Marseille stopper loves a transfer rumour.
This week has seen Aston Villa heavily linked with a move for French international goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.
The talented stopper is out of contract in the summer and it has been reported by RMC Sport that Villa are setting up a concrete offer to bring him in in the summer.
Now the Marseille stopper has been joking about interest in his services.
Speaking to Canal Plus after the recent 1-1 draw with Marseille he made it clear that he would be returning to the club on December 27th after a Christmas break - but joked he liked the rumour mill too much to confirm whether he would remain after the end of January:
"I am sure I'll come back again on December 27th, I'll be there.
"I'll answer the question, you ask me if I am sure to return, yes I am because we start on December 27 and the transfer window opens on the 1st (of January).
"I'll be back for my luggage? Yes that's exactly ... or not. I know you like that sort of subject and I too love it."
Aston Villa have been heavily linked with a move for a new goalkeeper this winter after an indifferent campaign from American stopper Brad Guzan - who also had his struggles at the club last season.
Mandanda however is likely to have plenty of offers for his services in January and most of them will not be bottom of the league with just seven points at Christmas.
