Queens Park Rangers defender Michael Harriman is set to join Wycombe Wanderers on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Harriman is in his second spell on loan at Wycombe after returning to Adams Park in the summer after his initial spell at the club in 2013.

The 23-year-old has been a standout performer for Wycombe this season, scoring six goals in 22 appearances for the League Two side to date.

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth is a big fan of Harriman and is keen to secure him on a permanent contract with his loan deal due to expire next month.

A number of other clubs have been keeping tabs on Harriman's progress, but Wycombe have moved quickly to agree a deal for the Republic of Ireland Under-21 international.

Harriman came through the ranks at QPR, but was unable to hold down a regular place in the side making just three appearances for the first-team.

The versatile defender has spent the last three seasons out on loan at Gillingham, Luton Town and Wycombe and QPR are ready to let him move on with his contract due to expire next summer.
