The Tottenham Hotspur midfielder is back in contention.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has been speaking ahead of his side’s Boxing Day clash against Norwich City, with his comments later posted on Spurs’ official Twitter account.
Among other things, Pochettino discussed the current situation regarding injuries at White Hart Lane, and he had positive news regarding a player who has been out of action for the last three league games.
“We have very good news,” the Tottenham boss said. “Ryan Mason has trained this week and is available if I decide to pick him.
“Clinton (N’Jie) and Alex Pritchard are still out. Everyone else in the squad is available for selection.”
That is a timely boost for a Tottenham side looking to solidify their place in the Premier League’s top four after they moved above Manchester United last weekend.
Tottenham may have recently seen their undefeated streak in the league end but they quickly got over that to defeat Southampton 2-0, and upcoming matches against Norwich and Watford will give them the chance to start another extended run of positive results.
Mason has appeared 10 times in the league so far this season but he has played a bit-part role to date and that is likely to remain the case all the time first-choice pairing Dele Alli and Eric Dier are fit and available.
