Manuel Lanzini is back in training for West Ham, ahead of their festive fixtures - and has been joined by star man Dmitri Payet.
The Argentine has been out of action for the last month after picking up a thigh injury, and was expected to be out until the New Year, while Payet has been nursing a knee injury.
Manager Slaven Bilic addressed Lanzini's fitness at his press conference, insisting the attacking midfielder would play a role over the coming games.
Lanzini, nicknamed 'The Jewel' by fans, was described by Bilic as 'probably' going to return for the Southampton game, but would likely miss the Boxing Day fixture against Aston Villa, the Evening Standard reported.
The loanee has impressed since his summer arrival, and West Ham have struggled to score goals in his absence. This has also been down to the injury to Dmitri Payet, who could return in early January against Liverpool, said Bilic.
West Ham are in eighth place in the Premier League and the festive fixtures will be important to them consolidating a top 10 place. Having a player like Lanzini back will only help their cause.
