Manchester United transfer news: Kjaer comments on speculation; £58.8m-rated James Rodriguez linked

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from Turkish newspaper Fotomac, Fenerbahce centre-back Simon Kjaer is happy in Turkey despite alleged interest from Manchester United.

Louis van Gaal’s side had an impressive back-line for much of the campaign but injuries have taken their toll and in the absence of Chris Smalling United have shipped goal after goal, failing to win any of their last six matches in all competitions.

Kjaer is a 26-year-old Danish international who has shone for Fenerbahce this season but in recent comments he said, “I am happy here if the year does not present any other team.”

In other news, the Mirror has picked up on reports from Spain that United are very interested in signing Real Madrid player James Rodriguez.

The 24-year-old Colombian international was out with injury earlier in the campaign but he has still managed three goals and six assists in just 10 matches.

The Mirror reports comments made by Spanish journalist Jose Luis Sanchez on television show El Chiringuito suggesting United are interested in a player who would reportedly cost in the region of £58.8million.
