Yanic Wildschut to return to Middlesbrough

HITC Sport understands that the Wigan loan will be brought to an end in January.

Middlesbrough have decided to recall Dutch flyer Yanic Wildschut in January, HITC Sport understands.

The 24-year-old started the season with Boro and featured in a couple of games before being loaned to Wigan, where has has produced a string of top-class displays.

He has scored four goals in 15 games, whilst also creating havoc down the flanks and Wigan boss Gary Caldwell has never hidden his desire to keep hold of him.

However, Wigan have been told that Wildschut will be returning to Teesside when his loan spell comes to an end on January 2nd.

Middlesbrough fans will now be excited to see the return to Wildschut, who has been one of the stand-out players in League One in recent weeks, as they believe he can bolster their own promotion push to the Premier League.

Wildschut's current contract with Middlesbrough expires at the end of the season although they do have a year's option on him.
