Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Alvaro Negredo.
Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo, report The Mirror.
Negredo has made an impact in the Premier League before for Manchester City, and has had a tough season in Spain.
He fell out with former manager Nuno earlier this season and was sidelined from October, but his prospects have turned around since Gary Neville was appointed as Valencia manager.
Neville is unlikely to want to let him leave based on his recent comments, describing him as a perfect striker.
Speaking to The Mail a fortnight ago, he said: "Watching him at Manchester City two or three seasons ago he made a big impact in the Premier League and he was almost like the perfect striker; he was wonderful and there is no reason why he can’t get back to that level."
The Mirror's report suggests Negredo is unsettled, but underlines Tottenham's difficulty in prising him away, also stating that Neville sees him as a key part of Valencia's rebuilding plans.
Tottenham may need a 'plan C'.
