If Carles Gil is unhappy at sitting on the bench amid a relegation dogfight - Real Betis may be able to offer him an escape route.
Estadio Deportivo report Betis want to buy Gil from Villa in the January transfer window, and offer the winger a 'significant role' in their attack.
Gil would be moving to a side with real momentum, who bounced back from relegation in 2013/14, and currently sit in 11th position in La Liga.
The midfielder joined Villa from Valencia last season, bought by Paul Lambert, but injury stopped him kicking on after Tim Sherwood was appointed, and he has struggled to get going this season.
Gil has undoubted talent, as shown in his early performances for Villa, but a change of club may be for the best if he is not getting a chance to play under Remi Garde.
Betis are managed by former West Bromwich Albion boss Pepe Mel, and Estadio Deportivo report that the Spanish side view Gil as an achievable transfer target.
