Queen of the South forward Derek Lyle has told Herald Scotland that Rangers will win the Scottish Championship title this season.
Rangers and Hibernian are the two frontrunners for the league title in the second tier of Scottish football this campaign.
The Gers are at the top of the league table at the moment with 41 points from 17 matches, level on points with Hibernian, who are currently second on goal difference.
Rangers and Hibernian will face each other at Ibrox in Glasgow in the Scottish Championship on Monday, December 28.
Lyle, who has been on the books of the Doonhamers since 2012, believes that Mark Warburton’s side have more quality than title rivals Hibernian.
“It may come down to what happens in January, who they sign, but, at this minute, I feel Rangers have got a wee bit more.”
James Fowler’s Queens side are sixth in the Scottish Championship table at the moment with 22 points from 18 matches.
The Doonhamers are five points behind Raith Rovers, who are currently fourth and occupy the final playoff spot.
