Sol Bamba is one of the best players in the current Leeds United squad.

Leeds United defender Liam Cooper has told BBC Radio Leeds that teammate Sol Bamba is a massive player for the team.

“It’s always nice to have a big, big player like Sol keeping you on your toes,” said Cooper. “It is brilliant to have him there. He is the club captain, he is a massive player for us.”

Bamba is one of the best players in the current Leeds squad and is also the team captain.

When fit and on form, the Ivory Coast international is one of the best central defenders in the Championship.

The 30-year-old former Leicester City and Palermo centre-back has created three chances in 15 Championship appearances for Leeds so far this season.

Bamba has a pass accuracy of 78%, and has won 56 headers, 12 dribbles and 31 tackles.

Leeds have won their last two games in the Championship, and the players will be in confident mood now.

The West Yorkshire outfit find themselves 13th in the Championship table at the moment with 29 points from 22 matches.

The Whites are just five points behind Ipswich Town, who are currently sixth and occupy the final playoff spot.

Leeds will face Nottingham Forest away from home at the City Ground in the Championship this coming Sunday.
