Leeds United goalkeeper Marco Silvestri is back in form.
Silvestri has been on the books of Leeds since 2014 and is the Whites’ first-choice custodian.
The Italian has made mistakes from time to time, but he is now back to his best and is playing an important role in the West Yorkshire outfit’s surge up the Championship table.
Against Preston North End at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon, Silvestri made as many as nine saves to help Leeds win the league encounter 1-0.
“He’s been brilliant,” Cooper told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “Everyone knows Marco’s a great shot-stopper. Obviously he took a bit of stick but he’s a strong, brave character and he’s answered all the questions.”
Leeds have won their last two games in the Championship and are in decent form at the moment.
Heading into Christmas, the Whites find themselves 13th in the Championship table with 29 points from 22 matches.
The West Yorkshire outfit are just five points behind Ipswich Town, who are currently sixth and occupy the final playoff spot.
Leeds will face Nottingham Forest away from home at the City Ground in the Championship this coming Sunday.
