Leeds United beat Preston North End 1-0 at the weekend.
Leeds beat Preston 1-0 at the weekend, and their defensive improvements were on full display in the fixture.
The Whites have now let in just five goals in their last eight matches, and Cooper was pleased to shut Simon Grayson’s team out on Saturday.
“We scored at a good time and you start to think that we can go and get more, it just wasn’t to be,” he said. “But we managed to keep another clean sheet and that’s always nice.
“We stuck at it and defended well. I thought we looked dangerous on the break, we just struggled to find that final pass to get us that second goal to make it a lot more comfortable.
“But the main thing is that we didn’t concede and we’ve got another three points. That’s a big positive.”
Leeds were given a boost in their victory against Preston, when Jordan Pickford was sent off after being adjudged to have handled outside his area.
Steve Evans’ side made their numerical advantage count, although they were reliant on an own goal from Alan Browne to provide them with the three points.
Leeds have now won just three of their last four matches, and they have started to climb the Championship table.
Evans’ men are in 13th place in the current standings, and they are now only six points away from the play off spaces.
Leeds’ next fixture comes against Nottingham Forest on the 27th December.
