Report: Peterborough United want over £1m for in-demand Conor Washington

Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City and Cardiff City all have their eyes on Peterborough United's Conor Washington, according to reports.

According to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph, Peterborough United will only listen to seven figure offers for star striker Conor Washington in January.

The Daily Mail have suggested that Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City and Cardiff City are all interested in signing the 23-year-old.

However, Posh are determined not to lose Washington on the cheap – and they want in excess of £1 million for the former Newport County man.

Washington has scored nine goals in his last 10 matches, and his goals have helped Posh accelerate up the League One table.

Peterborough are currently in the play offs in England’s third tier, and they are the top scorers in the Football League.

Washington has played a key role in this rise, but Darragh MacAnthony, the club’s chairman, has admitted that Posh may have to sell in January to balance the books.

Wolves, Cardiff and Birmingham have all been alerted to the front man’s potential availability, but it remains to be seen whether they will be willing to meet Posh’s hefty asking price.
