Goalkeeper Adrian was also key to Slaven Bilic's side as they earned a point in Wales, making a number of superb saves.
There was a sour note for the East Londoners, though, when the duo clashed after they had both gone for the same ball during a Swansea corner and almost conceded a goal.
The pair were seen screaming in each other's faces as tensions flared.
'Love you brother'
But the Welsh international has taken to social media to heal any potential rift, even going as far as telling his Spanish teammate he loves him.
Posting a picture of the moment the pair squared up to one another on social media site Instagram, Collins said: "In the heat of the battle... Love you brother."
Team spirit key
What happened between Collins and Adrian probably takes place at training grounds up and down the country every single day.
But given the game was broadcast live on Sky Sports the incident received a lot of attention afterwards with supporters speculating the pair did not like each other.
The 32-year-old Welsh international has put that talk to bed, though, with his post and it shows the kind of excellent team spirit that Bilic has fostered at West Ham.
It is good for the club that Collins and Adrian have kissed and made up given the pair are likely to be playing together for the foreseeable future after the centre back performed superbly deputising for injured star Winston Reid.
