Well-known Spanish football journalist Guillem Balague has told Sky Sports that Arsenal are not interested in Celta de Vigo star Nolito.
According to a report in The Mirror earlier this month, Premier League giants Arsenal have made an enquiry about the 29-year-old, who can play as a winger or as a forward.
Balague, though, has claimed that the Gunners do not want to sign the former Barcelona attacker.
“I know for a fact that Arsenal don't want him (Nolito),” the Spaniard football expert told Sky Sports. “They feel for €18m, it's not what they're looking for so instead of me answering, that's Arsenal answering for you.”
Nolito has been on the books of Celta since 2013 and is one of their best players. The Spain international has been in brilliant form so far this season and is leading the Galician club’s challenge for a top-four finish in La Liga.
The 29-year-old former Benfica man has scored eight goals and created 43 chances in 15 La Liga appearances so far this campaign.
Nolito has a pass accuracy of 68% and a shot accuracy of 56%, and has won nine headers, 36 dribbles and 15 tackles.
