Leeds United boss Steve Evans has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that defender Sol Bamba will get a chance to play over Christmas.
The Whites have now won three of their last four games, having beaten Preston North End 1-0 on Sunday afternoon - just days after winning 3-2 away at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
It's been a busy schedule for Leeds of late, but whilst the rest of the Championship play on Boxing Day, Leeds will feature on the 27th of December instead, as they travel to face Nottingham Forest.
With another packed set of fixtures to come, manager Evans will be looking to rotate his squad - and one player who could benefit is Sol Bamba.
The Ivorian defender, who joined Leeds on a permanent basis over the summer after a successful loan spell from Palermo, has recently been left out of the side, with Giuseppe Bellusci and Liam Cooper preferred as Evans' first choice centre back pairing.
Now though, Evans has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that Evans will get a chance to play during the festive period, due to the busy schedule.
Evans also claims that he told the Leeds squad that they are all going to be given an opportunity to impress over the coming weeks, and they need to take that chance with both hands.
"Sol will get his turn over the holiday period because we didn’t choose to play Thursday night on the television and then on a Sunday," said Evans. "The recovery time is pretty much zero. We certainly didn’t choose to be playing on the 27th at 4.30pm or to be back out at Elland Road on the 29th hosting one of the best teams in the league. It’s very tough for the players, but I’ll use the squad we’ve got."
"It’s no secret that within our camp we’re not happy with the schedule coming up. This is why I said to the group – and to the boys who were sitting there (against Preston) but not stripped or playing a part – that they’re all going to get a chance in the next week. They need to be ready to grab it," he added.
