West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to discuss the club's upcoming game against Aston Villa on Boxing Day, stating that they need a goal and a win.
The Hammers made a superb start to the season, but have now gone seven games without a victory after a stunning injury crisis.
Manager Slaven Bilic has seen key players like Winston Reid, Dimitri Payet, Manuel Lanzini, Victor Moses and Daifra Sakho all fall down with injuries, prompting this run of just five points in the last seven games.
The last three games have all finished 0-0 for the Hammers, and fans are now hoping that they can pick up the first win in two months when they take on Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Villa sit bottom of the Premier League table with just seven points from 17 games this term, and West Ham should be looking to pile the misery on Remi Garde's men by going for a win.
Ahead of that game, Hammers co-chairman David Gold has taken to Twitter to give his thoughts on the game, and whilst he hopes some players are back from injury, he pointed out two things he wants to see.
Gold says it's about time that West Ham found the back of the net having gone three games without a goal, whilst he also thinks it's time for Bilic's men to win a game too.
Yes. About time we scored, about time we won. Hopefully a few players will be back from injury. dg https://t.co/J7LkqdKwpS— David Gold (@davidgold) December 22, 2015
There won't be many better opportunities to achieve both of those targets than on Boxing Day against Aston Villa, and West Ham will be hoping for some success over the festive period, with upcoming games against Southampton and Liverpool too.
