Pardew has done an excellent job since he arrived at Selhurst Park.
Pardew has two and a half years left on his current deal with Palace. However, the club appear very keen to tie him down for much longer.
Palace recently secured a considerable investment from American businessmen Joshua Harris and David Blitzer - with The Guardian reporting that the pair plan to spend £50m on renovating Selhurst Park - and this move suggests that Pardew is the man who can fulfil their long-term vision for the club.
Since arriving from Newcastle at the start of the year, Pardew took Palace from the relegation zone and into the top half of the table in just half a season.
And he has capitalised on that promising start during this current campaign. Having beaten the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool so far this term, the Eagles remain at the right end of the table, level on points with Tottenham, who currently occupy fourth place.
Given the work that Pardew has done so far, getting him to sign a new contract with the club could prove to be as important as the deals they have already agreed with the likes of Scott Dann and Yannick Bolasie in recent times (via The Guardian).
