Leicester City are top of the table.
Claudio Ranieri says that he does not want to rush Leicester City midfielder Danny Drinkwater back to fitness, meaning that the central-midfielder could miss out on playing against Liverpool on Boxing Day.
Drinkwater was forced to come off in Leicester’s match against Chelsea earlier this month, and his injury kept him out of his side’s win over 3-2 win over Everton at the weekend.
Andy King came in for Drinkwater against The Toffees, and Ranieri was impressed by the Welsh midfielder’s performance.
CR: “Danny Drinkwater is getting better, but at the moment I don’t want to risk him and also Andy King is playing very well.” #LivLei— Leicester City (@LCFC) December 22, 2015
King was in superb form for Leicester against Everton, as Ranieri’s team picked up an impressive win.
With Drinkwater and Robert Huth both out, many people predicted that the Foxes' run of form would come to an end at Goodison Park, but they surpassed expectations again.
Leicester scored twice through Riyad Mahrez, before Shinji Okazaki rounded off the triumph late on.
The Foxes’ win on Merseyside has meant that they will be sitting at the top of the Premier League table on Christmas Day, which marks a stunning rise for the club.
