Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld seems to rate Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero highly.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has told The Mirror that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is the toughest opponent he has faced.

Alderweireld has played against Aguero in the Premier League while playing for Southampton and Spurs, as well as in the Champions League when he was at Ajax.

“He (Aguero) is not big, but he has enormous legs – huge,” the Tottenham defender told The Mirror when asked about the toughest opponent he has faced. “Often he walks around, but then he comes to life. He is very dangerous.”

Aguero is the best striker in the Premier League and arguably the best in the world. The Argentina international has struggled with injuries during his time at City, but when fit, he is one to be feared.

The 27-year-old former Atletico Madrid star has already established himself as a City legend, having guided the Citizens to the Premier League title twice.

The former Independiente striker has scored seven goals and created six chances in 10 Premier League appearances so far this season.

Aguero has a pass accuracy of 88% and a shot accuracy of 63%, and has won three headers, 14 dribbles and one tackle.
