The forward has impressed in a central role this season, but Lineker believes he should play somewhere else.
Since joining the Gunners as a youngster from Southampton, Walcott has spent most of his career as a right-winger for both club and country.
He has been given the chance in a central role this season though, putting in some decent displays, keeping out Olivier Giroud for large parts earlier in the campaign.
Lineker however, says that he believes he should actually play on the left of a forward three, the position Alexis Sanchez currently occupies for the side.
“I've always thought the left side of 3 would be Walcott's best position. Suits his outside to in onto his right foot,” he wrote on Twitter.

With the kind of form that Olivier Giroud has enjoyed this season while Walcott has been out injured, Arsene Wenger could be forced to return the England man to the wings.
The left wing role is very much Alexis Sanchez’s position though, with him having starred in that role and Wenger unlikely to move him when he returns.
That means he may have content himself back out on the right once again, despite Lineker suggesting the opposite side could be the best place for him.
