Sheffield Wednesday have been linked to former Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor.
Adebayor is a free agent after being released from his contract at Tottenham Hotspur back in September.
The striker's wages are still being paid by Spurs up until the end of this current season, but the club simply did not want him around as part of the squad.
The Togo international is 31, and has previously played for Arsenal, Monaco, and Real Madrid.
Sheffield Wednesday are looking to make an impact in the January transfer window to aid their promotion push, currently in the race for the play-offs.
Striker is likely to be a position they seek to strengthen, but Adebayor is a controversial figure, who at worst could become a divisive figure in the squad.
An ability to pay Adebayor's wages, and how that would work out with his current situation with Tottenham - who would look for his next team to cover the cost of his expensive salary.
