Middlesbrough are interested in signing Steven Naismith from Everton in the January transfer window, according to The Scottish Sun.
Newcastle United, Sunderland, Aston Villa and Norwich City are all reportedly interested in securing the services of Naismith, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a forward.
“Spanish outfit Malaga are believed to have shown an interest but have so far failed to follow that up,” adds the report in The Scottish Sun.
Naismith, a former Rangers player, has been on the books of Merseyside outfit Everton since 2012.
The 29-year-old has proved himself in the Premier League, but he has struggled for playing time so far this season.
The Scotland international attacker has scored three goals and created eight chances in nine Premier League appearances for Everton so far this campaign.
The former Kilmarnock star has a pass accuracy of 73% and a shot accuracy of 80%, and has won eight headers, five dribbles and nine tackles.
