Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell is said to be of interest to a host of clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

According to the Daily Mail, Brighton & Hove Albion and Derby County will both compete for the signing of Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell.

Chilwell is currently on loan at Huddersfield Town until January, but there is set to be a fight for his signature once his temporary move expires.

Both Derby and Brighton have been very impressed by the young defender’s performances with the Terriers, and they feel his addition would strengthen their promotion pushes.

Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Arsenal are all also said to be interested in signing Chilwell on a permanent deal.

Leicester would rather let Chilwell leave on a temporary basis, as they have high hopes for his future, but they realise their bargaining position in weakening.

The 19-year-old’s contract expires in 18 months time, and Leicester are set to offer him a new deal in the coming weeks.

Derby and Brighton have already competed for the signing of one Premier League youngster this season, as both sides were interested in Manchester United's James Wilson, according to the Mail.

On that occasion, the Seagulls came out on top, with the striker recently moving on a season-long loan to Chris Hughton's side.
