Aston Villa have yet to make contact with either Colin Coosemans or KV Mechelen, Sport Wereld reports.
The Belgian media outlet confirms that Villa are interested in the goalkeeper, but they have not yet made any approaches to sign the 23-year-old in the January transfer window.
There has been no contact between Villa and Mechelen, or between the players representatives, although it is expected that the Midlands side will formalise their interest in the stopper when January starts.
Coosemans is likely to accept a move when Villa make an approach in January, having seen himself as nothing but a back-up this season. He has played over 100 games for Waasland-Beveren and Club Brugge, but this term he has not made a single appearance.
Villa are looking at signing Coosemans as a replacement for Brad Guzan, with Remi Garde keen to provide competition for the American stopper after seeing him struggle for much of this season.
