Peter Risdale was spotted back at Leeds United.

Controversial former chairman Peter Risdale was spotted back at Leeds United's Elland Road for their match on Sunday.

BBC Radio Leeds journalist Adam Pope posted the picture on his Twitter account of Risdale walking in the tunnel, speaking on his phone.

Risdale was chairman of Leeds between 1997 and 2003, stepping down with the club more than £100 million in debt, a result of spending beyond their means to achieve short term success.

He has since held jobs and Barnsley and Cardiff City, and is the current chairman of Preston North End.

Preston were visitors at Elland Road on Sunday, losing 1-0 thanks to an own goal from Alan Browne.

The victory was Leeds' third in their last four, taking them into 13th place in the table, and also means they have won back to back games at home, where they had struggled earlier in the season.

Risdale's presence would not have gone down well among supporters, but sitting up in the director's box it was kept low key, just as he would have wanted.
