Taking to his personal Twitter account, Argentine striker Luciano Becchio reacted to three of his former clubs winning over the weekend, with Leeds United, Norwich City and Rotherham United all picking up three points from their respective games.
Leeds defeated Preston on Sunday by a 1-0 scoreline, with an Alan Browne own goal handling the Whites the victory. They may have won, but Steve Evans’ men really should have secured a more convincing victory as Preston were down to 10 men after 31 minutes, and had 17-year-old goalkeeper Mathew Hudson in goal after Jordan Pickford’s dismissal.
Rotherham, managed by former Leeds coach Neil Redfearn, pulled off the most surprising result of the weekend, picking up a 2-0 win at home over promotion contenders Hull City.
The win kept Rotherham in the bottom three of the Championship table, but it moved them closer to the teams above them, and would have been a fantastic motivational boost for Redfearn’s players seeing as they stopped Hull rising into the top two of the league.
Norwich also pulled off one of the most surprising results over this matchday, winning 2-1 at Old Trafford. They defeated a poor Manchester United team, but that should not take away from a truly top class victory from the Canaries.
