Marko Grujic is on the verge of completing his transfer from Red Star Belgrade to Liverpool.
Red Star general manager Zvezdan Terzic says the deal will be completed within days, and Grujic will be handsomely paid by Liverpool.
The Serbian midfielder is even set to take Steven Gerrard's number eight shirt, which remains vacant.
Speaking to Serbian television station Radio Television of Republika Serbian, B92.net reported that Red Star will receive seven million Euros, plus a 10 per cent sell on clause of any future transfer.
He said: "We will in the next three days sign a contract with Liverpool. It was a record transfer.Marko Grujic will sign a five-year contract with Liverpool where he will have a million and 200 thousand euros annual net income, which means that he will have six million from Liverpool. He'll get eight on the back."
Grujic, 19, currently wears the number eight at Red Star, and is set to become new boss Jurgen Klopp's first signing for the Reds.
He was part of Serbia's under-20 World Cup winning squad in the summer, and made his first team debut for Red Star two years ago.
Liverpool are currently ninth in the Premier League, one point ahead of rivals Everton.
