Tottenham round-up: Pochettino on Kane injury, Rossiter linked and pre-season opponents announced

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has calmed fears from the club’s supporters that striker Harry Kane could have suffered an injury setback during the club’s 2-0 victory against Southampton on Saturday.

The England international appeared to suffer an injury to his knee in the final minutes at St Mary’s but in comments published by Sky Sports, the Spurs boss said, “He is okay. I only took him off for a precaution.”

That will be a boost to Tottenham and their fans heading into the busy Christmas and New Year fixtures that could make or break the club’s campaign.

In other news, Tottenham have announced on their official website that they will be returning to Australia this summer for a pre-season tour.

Spurs will take on Italian club Juventus in July with their other opponents to be unveiled in early 2016.

And finally, the Liverpool Echo claims Tottenham are among the clubs monitoring the situation of Liverpool’s teenage midfielder Jordan Rossiter.

The 18-year-old is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, and until he puts pen to paper on a new deal his future will remain in the balance.

Tottenham and Manchester City are both said to be tracking the player who is very highly rated at Anfield and who has featured five times for Liverpool’s first-team to date, scoring one goal in the process.
