Souleymane Doukara came off the bench against Wolverhampton Wanderers to turn the game in Leeds United's favour.
Doukara’s time at Leeds looked to be coming to an end, but he put in a brilliant display against Wolverhampton Wanderers to showcase the quality that he does have.
Doukara came off the bench and completely changed the game, as Leeds went on to claim a 3-2 victory and Molineux.
And Evans said: “I said to the owner when I first came in that I felt there were a lot of players written off. Big Souley Doukara was one of them.
“I’m not saying he’s suddenly a Leeds United player now, he’s got a lot of points to prove.
“He was man of the match at Wolves but you can’t just have one of them and expect to stay at Leeds United. You’ve got to have consistency.”
Prior to Doukara’s introduction Leeds had been on the back foot against Wolves, but as soon as the forward was on the field the pattern of the match changed.
Doukara’s physicality caused the Wolves defence a lot of problems and the Whites dominated for much of the remainder of the contest.
Leeds’ margin of victory could have been greater in the end, but Chris Wood was guilty of missing some gilt-edged opportunities in the contest.
Leeds win has lifted them up to 15th in the Championship table and Doukara’s next chance to impress could come this afternoon when his side take on Preston North End at Elland Road.
