Ronny Deila responds to speculation over Celtic duo’s future

Celtic duo Scott Allan and Anthony Stokes have been linked with Hibernian.

Celtic manager Ronny Deila has told BBC Sport that he has no plans to send Scott Allan and Anthony Stokes out on loan in the January transfer window.

Both Allan and Stokes have struggled for playing time so far this season.

Midfielder Allan, 24, joined Celtic in the summer of 2015 after leaving Hibernian.

Striker Stokes, 27, has been on the books of the Scottish Premiership giants since 2010 when he joined them from Hibs.

According to The Scottish Sun, Hibernian are interested in signing the Celtic duo on loan in the January transfer window in order to boost their chances of winning the Scottish Championship title this season.

Deila, though, has made it clear that neither Allan nor Stokes will leave Celtic Park next month.

"I don't talk about this in the media, but we want to keep our players,” the Norwegian told BBC Sport when asked about any approach.

“We will see in the future what happens, but my task is to have Anthony Stokes as good as possible and that's what I want.”

Deila added on the prospect of Allan returning to Hibernian: ”No chance. He is here in the squad, so why should he go to another club? It is nothing to think about."

Celtic are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 41 points from 18 matches.

The Glasgow giants are level on points with Aberdeen, who have played a game more, but they are ahead on goal difference.
