Bournemouth are said to be in the market for a new goalkeeper in the January transfer market. Artur Boruc has had his struggles this season and is currently coming to the end of his career.
Adam Federici does not look to be Premier League standard and one name has been linked with a move to the club recently.
Italian stopper Marco Sportiello has come through the leagues in Italy and is currently with Atalanta. The 23-year-old has been in good form this season for Atalanta in Serie A and was linked with a move to Bournemouth last week.
Now the reports are suggesting that a bid has in fact been lodged by The Cherries.
TMW are reporting that Bournemouth have lodged an €8.5 million (£6.2 million) bid for the Italian custodian.
The same report however makes it clear that this fee will not be enough to get their hands on the player.
Atalanta are said to be wanting a considerable amount more for one of their most valuable assets.
Bournemouth might have to dig a little deeper if the Italian was to be brought in next month.
