Alan Browne's own goal gave Leeds United the win v Preston.
Leeds United picked up a big win earlier today, prevailing 1-0 against Preston North End as they continue to push away from the relegation places in the Championship.
It was, a poor performance. Against ten men Preston, who had Jordan Pickford sent off in the first-half, they struggled for the breakthrough needed to get the three points.
They struggled to move the ball around at the same tempo they had at Wolves in midweek and it was probably a game they should have drawn.
Luckily, they were handed a life-line.
Alan Browne did his utmost to cut out a Stuart Dallas cross but he inadvertently headed the ball into the back of his own net to give Leeds all three points.
The moment was even captured on camera by the Twitter account LUFC Pictures:
The result may have been scrappy but it was a win and that means Leeds are now just four points off the play-off places in the Championship.
Leeds fans will no doubt be thankful to Browne for his unfortunate error.
