Norwich City players react on Twitter to beating Manchester United

Norwich City beat Manchester United 2-1 at Old Trafford yesterday.

Norwich City’s squad have expressed their delight on Twitter after they toppled Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday.

The Canaries went into their match against Louis van Gaal’s men as the underdogs, but upset the odds by putting in a fine performance.

Norwich were secure at the back and punished the holes in United’s defence - which does not look the same in the absence of Chris Smalling.

In truth the Red Devils were far from their best, but that does not detract from the standard of Alex Neil’s side’s display.

Norwich took the lead through Cameron Jerome and they never let up in their pursuit of the three points.

Alex Tettey scored Norwich’s second of the afternoon, and even though Anthony Martial did pull one back for the hosts it was not enough.

The win lifted Norwich out of the relegation zone, and their players were all too happy to celebrate the unexpected triumph on social media.
