Niall Quinn unimpressed by Mauro Zarate's performance for West Ham United and Swansea City

West Ham United drew 0-0 with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Niall Quinn has told Sky Sports, during their coverage of Swansea City’s match against West Ham United, that he felt Mauro Zarate was careless at the Liberty Stadium.

Zarate was handed a start in Wales, but he failed to provide the creative spark needed for Slaven Bilic’s side.

West Ham ended up drawing 0-0 with the struggling Swans in a match which was starved of chances.

And Quinn said: “Zarate is a talented young man, but he has been careless today.

“He had a lovely ball played out to him, but carelessly ran it into the full-back. He needs to buck his ideas up a bit.”

Zarate played for 60 minutes at the Liberty Stadium, but he was virtually ineffective.

The 28-year-old only attempted to make 11 passes, and he only completed 63% of them.

He created one opportunity for his teammates, but it wasn’t a particularly impressive display.

West Ham have now drawn their last three matches 0-0, and their attacking play has clearly been hampered by the injuries to Manuel Lanzini and Dimitri Payet.

The Hammers are now in eighth place in the Premier League table.
