Michael Ball urges Everton to keep hold of Roberto Martinez

Everton are down in 10th place in the Premier League table following a loss to Leicester City.

Former Everton defender Michael Ball insists that Roberto Martinez should hold on to his job at Goodison Park, in comments published on his official Twitter account.

Martinez has come under pressure this season as Everton have not made the progress that many were hoping for.

Although the Toffees have put in some encouraging performances, they are stuck in 10th place in the Premier League table and the pressure is mounting on the Spaniard.

However, Ball says that the Toffees need to stick by the Spanish boss, even though the team are under achieving.

The frustration at Everton is that their squad is not showing its true potential.

The likes of Romelu Lukaku, John Stones, Gerard Deulofeu and Ross Barkley are some of the most talented players in the Premier League, but defensive vulnerabilities have cost the team.

Everton have been guilty of gifting opposition sides goals throughout the campaign, and they will need to tighten up if their form is to improve.

Despite their rather middling start, Everton are still only six points outside the top four, meaning all is not lost if they can start picking up some victories over the Christmas period.
