Manchester United fans react on Twitter to Liverpool defeat

Manchester United fans were distracted from their own team's problems by Liverpool losing to Watford.

Manchester United are on a desperate run of form of late - but the struggles of bitter rivals Liverpool is putting a smile on supporter's faces.

The Red Devils have lost successive games to Bournemouth and Norwich, currently looking out of contention for the Premier League title.

United rightfully took their fair of stick for losing at home to the Canaries on Saturday - but ever so briefly, this was forgotten as Liverpool suffered a 3-0 beating by Watford.

A win for Liverpool could have taken them to within two points of United, who are currently in fifth place, but as it is a five point gap remains, with Jurgen Klopp's side in ninth position.

Liverpool have already made their move to fire a manager this season, axing Brendan Rodgers for Jurgen Klopp - and the German is still familiarising himself with life in England, not yet having a transfer window to put his own stamp on the squad.

United boss Louis van Gaal is himself a man under pressure, and had he been looking up the table at rivals Liverpool by now, then his job could be in even more jeopardy than it is now.

Supporters took a brief bit of joy in Liverpool's troubles, taking to Twitter to poke fun at Liverpool's loss to the Hornets...
